Proximal and diaphyseal humeral fractures

Active or latent infection in the affected area
General medical conditions including impaired blood supply and pulmonary insufficiency (i.e. acute respiratory distress syndrome, fat embolism)
Patients who are unwilling or incapable of following post-operative care instructions
