Indications

Traumatic fractures of the diaphysis provided that the epiphyses are closed, so that two locking screws can be inserted outside the fracture both proximally and distally
Pathological fractures
Re-fractures
Non-unions
Reconstructive surgery

Contre-indications

Active infection
General medical conditions including: impaired blood supply, pulmonary insufficiency (i.e. ARDS, fat embolism) or latent infection
Patients with psychological or neurological conditions, who are unwilling or incapable of following instructions for post-operative care
Foreign body sensitivity. Where material sensitivity is suspected, tests should be made prior to implantation
