Yes. By using A-V Impulse System as an adjunct, venous stasis will be reduced which may offer increased protection against DVT compared with anticoagulation alone.

Will the A-V Impulse System benefit arterial disease patients?
Studies have shown that after five minute treatments with the A-V Impulse System arterial blood flow in normal patients increases 93%. In patients with known peripheral vascular disease the rate is 84%.
What are the contraindications for use?
The A-V Impulse System is contraindicated for patients with conditions where an increase in fluid to the heart may be detrimental, including some patients with congestive heart failure, and those with pre-existing deep vein thrombosis, thrombophlebitis or pulmonary embolism. The device should be used with caution on the infected or insensitive extremity.
