Product Description
The SFS System provides simple, reliable and comprehensive stabilization solutions for spinal fixation. Its patented innovations enable surgeons to work efficiently with surety.

The pedicle screws provide a full 42° multi-axial range of motion, that in conjunction with their uniquely tapered heads, are more accommodating to variables in patient anatomy/pathology. This simplifies screw placement and reduces the need for rod bending. Additionally, the fixation screw utilizes a patented buttress thread that minimizes the potential for misalignment or cross-threading of the set screw— feel it once and you'll know there's a difference.

Indication

The Spinal Fixation System is intended for non-cervical use in the spine.  The Spinal Fixation System, when used for pedicle screw fixation, is intended only for patients:

  1. Having severe spondylolisthesis (Grades 3 and 4) at the L5-S1 joint;
  2. Who are receiving fusion using autogenous bone graft only;
  3. Who are having the device fixed or attached to the lumbar and sacral spine (L3 and below); and
  4. Who are having the device removed after the development of a solid fusion mass.
Applicability:
Pedicle Screws, Rods, Cross Connectors, Dominos, Lateral Offsets, and Spacers.

The Spinal Fixation System, when used as a pedicle screw system in skeletally mature patients, is intended to provide immobilization and stabilization of spinal segments, as an adjunct to fusion in the treatment of the following acute and chronic instabilities or deformities of the thoracic, lumbar and sacral spine:

  1. Degenerative spondylolistheses with objective evidence of neurologic impairment;
  2. Fracture;
  3. Dislocation;
  4. Scoliosis;
  5. Kyphosis;
  6. Spinal tumor; and
  7. Failed previous fusion (pseudoarthrosis).
Applicability:
Dominos, Lateral Offsets, and Spacers.

The Spinal Fixation System, when used for anterolateral non-pedicle screw fixation to the non-cervical spine, is intended for the following indications:

  1. Degenerative disc disease (as defined as back pain of discogenic origin with degenerative disc confirmed by history and radiographic studies);
  2. Spondylolisthesis;
  3. Spinal stenosis;
  4. Spinal deformities (i.e., scoliosis, kyphosis, and/or lordosis);
  5. Tumor;
  6. Pseudoarthrosis;
  7. Failed previous fusion; and
  8. Trauma (i.e., fracture or dislocation).
Applicability:
Dominos, Lateral Offsets, Spacers, Staples, and Washers.

The Spinal Fixation System, when used for posterior non-pedicle screw fixation system of the non-cervical spine, is intended for the following indications:

  1. Degenerative disc disease (as defined as back pain of discogenic origin with degenerative disc confirmed by history and radiographic studies);
  2. Spondylolistheses;
  3. Spinal stenosis;
  4. Spinal deformities (i.e., scoliosis, kyphosis, lordosis);
  5. Tumor;
  6. Pseudoarthrosis;
  7. Failed previous fusion; and
  8. Trauma (i.e., fracture or dislocation).
Applicability:
Hooks, Rods, Cross Connectors, and Dominos.

Physician Benefits
  • Tapered heads conform to anatomy
  • Top-loading, pre-assembled cross connector
  • Patented locking screws won’t cross-thread
  • Reduction screw alternative
SFS offers more solutions for the surgeon with a broad selection of spacers, washers, staples and axial rod connectors. Our 3.0mm-to-5.5mm rod-to-rod connectors adjoin SFS with the Ascent POCT (Posterior Occipital Cervical Thoracic) System, and our 5.5mm-to 5.5mm connectors create a contiguous assembly with SFS rods and pedicle screw constructs.

The SFS design is elegant in its simplicity. The single closure locking mechanism for all implants means more efficiency. The intuitive tray layouts allow more room for other system instrumentation. And the multi-axial cross connectors provide three ranges of motion (rotation, angulation, translation) yet require only two set screws to be secured. The fixed cross connectors also feature one-step-locking for additional construct stability and a top-in loading design, so there’s no need for patient repositioning.

Easy-to-use SFS instruments and implants reliably and simply secure spinal fixation.
  • A wide array of standard and self-tapping pedicle screws for added versatility
  • Color-coded for easy selection during procedures; ergonomic case/tray system
  • Interchangeable ratcheting instrument handles
